The Speed Reading

Hello everybody. Based on the obtained experiments, I consider it necessary to immediately place everything accurate on e. The technique described below is not my invention. However, from my own experience I can believe you that it works. Exactly as promised.
The idea described in the post appeared long ago (there is a story under the cut), which tells in what part it is presented in the wonderful books of Tony Buzan “Use your head” and “Speed reading book” (there is a lot of water in the last).

It poses problems of speed of reading, understanding of the text, as well as methods of significant improvement of both.

Written by cympak. Dedicated to everyone who reads a lot: whether it is business documents, artwork or articles on Habré such as this.

Before proceeding to the most important, I ask you to pass a test of six questions.
https://share.hsforms.com/11woo-JNySH2RH19EKH5Xyg45v61
1. Is reading at a speed of over 1000 words per minute impossible?
2. Does slow reading speed offer a better understanding of the text?
3. Skipping words while reading is a bad habit that impairs the understanding of the text?
4. By default, we all read at a "natural" speed, and therefore the best?
5. If you do not understand a word or sentence, is it better to reread it and understand?
6. Are your eyes in constant motion while reading?
Finally, with interesting things, welcome to cat.

NO to all questions :) If you answered at least one question YES, then you will learn something interesting from these articles. The rest already know the topic and can go directly to the comments :)

Foreword
I. History of quick reading.
II. Eye movement.
III. Exercises and techniques.

FOREWORD.
The quality and speed of reading is influenced by so many factors, which I can not talk about in one Habra post. Therefore, here I focused on the methodology and physiology of reading.
I will not talk about such (quite important) broadcasts. I am not talking about the parameters of storing information. This is a separate topic dedicated to it.
Here I focused a little on the other.

I. HISTORY OF QUICKNESS.
The British Air Force was faced with a problem: in all cases when during a battle it is even difficult to even have time to consider whether it has a plane or an enemy plane.
Attention training courses. Like this: The pilot sat in front of the tachistoscope and for a short time he was shown photos of his and other planes. The display time of each photo was reduced, and, finally, it turned out that even if a photo (of a sufficiently large size) was shown for one five hundred (1/500) seconds, a person can still catch it.
This means reading attention courses. All people had to find and recognize all four words.

Currently, there is no need to learn such methods, however, a person can quickly find words.
