Introduction
John Bowlby developed his attachment theory to investigate and explore
the background and behavioral responses between children and their
carers. He explained this as "to conceptualize human tendencies, make
strong family bonds with specific others, and explain personality
disorders in a variety of ways, including anxiety, anger, depression and
emotional detachment. Loss will increase "(Bowlby, 1979, p.
First,
attachment theory explains the formation of the relationship between
the two words attachment itself refers to the emotional bond between the
two. Bowlby's attachment theory is born from the observation of mammals
and humans of infants when they rob the primary caregiver. I noticed
the evolutionary quality of specific behavior, such as crying or
searching as an adaptive response to the separation of attached images
(Fraley, 2010).
There are various opinions
about attachment theory. The first and most famous view of attachment
theory is J. Bowlby known as the father of attachment theory. He
believes that attachment begins in infancy and lasts a lifetime, and
there are several innate behavior control systems necessary for survival
and fertility. The attachment and exploration system is at the center
of his attachment theory (Elliot & Reis, 2003). The baby first
establishes a strong relationship with their primary caregiver and they
will be the foundation for exploration for the baby. It is the natural
behavior of the baby to explore new things, but if the child explores
and becomes dangerous or frightened, the primary caregiver becomes the
basis of safety.
Attachment Theory Attachment
theory conveys the initial meaning and development of attachment between
an infant and a mother. Attachment can be defined as a strong emotional
connection with specific people. The deposition process can be divided
into pre-deposition, differentiation and non-differentiation, and
multiple deposition stages. Separation of anxiety indicates a particular
attachment development. - The fixed pattern determined in the
development of life may be because it applies to the relationship with
others (Boyd, 2015, p. 130), in the personal meaning of forming a safety
" It is understood as an emotional bond. Studies conducted in 2007
found that establishing a reciprocating behavior model called
synchronization is extremely important for the development of
attachments (Boyd, 2015).
